Vic Firth Symphonic Collection STG Tim Genis General Persimmon Drumsticks
Expert Perspective
The Vic Firth STG is a wonderful general concert snare stick designed by Tim Genis. I’ve found that some concert sticks feel a little bulky in your hands but these sticks feel light and fast despite having plenty of weight for a nice, full sound on the snare drum. I frequently use these sticks to warm up on a practice pad or work on rudiments because they’re so easy to control. -Alex Beamer
Description
Symphonic Signature Series Snare Drum Sticks
The new Symphonic Signature Series from Vic Firth features products from some of the brightest talents in symphonic music. Ted Atkatz, Principal Percussionist and Assistant Timpanist of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Tim Genis, Principal Timpanist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, share their expertise in the development of three new concert snare sticks.
All made from persimmon, which is known for its density, durability and high impact resistance, these sticks produce a full bodied and slightly darker sound than other wood. The density also gives added power, allowing the player to avoid overplaying.
Tim Genis General (STG)- Designed to produce a dark, full-bodied sound. Great balance.
