The Malletech Stiletto MSA5.0 5.0 Octave marimba is the lightest full-size marimba option that Malletech offers. This slimmed down instrument has many of the same features that the Imperial or Roadster marimbas feature, but comes in a smaller, lighter, and more affordable package. The engineering and artistry that Malletech has put into the Stiletto marimba make this an instrument that is perfect for your studio, band room, or gig.

Rosewood Bars and the Low Octave Reach

The Stiletto marimba features select Honduran Rosewood bars that have been kiln-dried for a minimum of 5 years. These are precisely tuned to triple harmonics and produce a powerful, cleaner bass tone. The Stiletto keyboard has also been tweaked and compacted the spacing to allow for a smaller size low octave that makes it much easier to reach lower notes. The bass bars spacing on the Stiletto marimbas are comparable to the same size of most marimbas on the market today.

Quick Setup Frame: Six-Part System

The frame of the Stiletto features solid oak rails with an ebony finish. With a quick adjustment, the height of the marimba can go from 33" to top of naturals up to 41". Exclusive invisible rubber "uni-brackets can be found on the Stiletto as well that eliminate any kind of frame noise and also isolate the bar rails and resonators from the frame to reduce any other vibrations.

Tunable Round Resonators

The Stiletto resonators system is one of the lightest systems in the world. To maximize sustain, tone, volume and projection, the low range of the marimba features round tunable resonators. These resonators are designed to emphasize the fundamental pitch and boost the desired harmonics.

The tunable plugs on the lower 3.5 octaves allow you to adjust ring time and volume and to compensate for temperature and humidity changes. Solid aluminum RAILS system (Resonator Alignment and Integrated Linear Support) support resonators along entire length to prevent sagging and supports the resonators evenly and silently.
