The Malletech MJB Marimba 5.0 Octave Rosewood Marimba in Black was built at the request of Michael J. Burritt, world renowned percussionist. The challenge was set to create a marimba with the east low-octave reach features on the Stiletto marimba, but had to have the big, full sound as the Imperial Grand marimba. So the MJB marimba was born and features the rich full sound that Malletech is known for and a new sleek motorcycle look!

Look at Those Pipes!

The MJB marimba features massive twenty-five oversized, 4" diameter aluminum resonators. These low-end resonators feature metal tunable tops. The other thirty size resonators feature a paired to similar round design. All are created to produce a rich fundamental tone with standard bars widths. Created using a smooth jointness process, these pipes can sing!

Harley Look, Stradivarius Sound

The frame on the MJB features a rigid, twin-screw, belt driven height adjustment system. A reconfigured geometry of the bar spacing allows to an easy reach while playing in the low octave. This striking frame and resonator design have a Harley look with Stradivarius sound.
