Description

Adams Philharmonic Dresden Classic Timpani Philharmonic Dresden Classic drums are the latest addition to Adams's world-famous timpani line. Combining the timeless tone of Dresden-style drums with modern quality, these drums give you the response and projection you've been looking for. A traditional ratchet pedal mechanism without spring assist gives those players used to older Dresden-style drums;a familiar feel when tuning (contrast with the Philharmonic Light Duff Model that uses spring assist). The traditional "stripped-down" frame is light and strong, and reduces the strain of moving without sacrificing tone or stability.,;Features include: *Dresden-Style Pedal Mechanism ( foot-operated ratchet design)*Copper Hammered and Cambered Bowls *Patent Pending Specially Designed Split Rocker Arm for Super-Smooth Silent Pedal Action *Specially Designed "Strong & Light" Struts*T-handle Fine Tuner on player side *Extremely Accurate Tuning Gauges*Chrome Plated Counter Hoops, Tension Rods & Centering Devices *Renaissance Timpani Heads with Insert Rings *Wooden Head Covers Included,;Definitions:;American :; Arranging the drums in the typical "American " style of high drum on the right, and low drum on the left;(also sometimes referred to as "keyboard" or "piano";style for the same "low-on-the-left" reasons).; This is important when ordering Dresden style drums as the tuning pedal and gauges are placed not in the front center position -but to the;right or left of the bowl.; For instance: a 20" Amercian Dresden timpano will have the pedal and gauge on the left of the bowl, nearest the;center of the set-up when placed on the farthest right-hand position.,German:; Arranging the drums in the typical "German" style of high drum on the left, and low drum on the;right.;This is the;traditional set-up configuration of;European or "Germanic";orchestral timpani playing heritage. The;advantages with the German configuration is that it places the typical dominant (or "5th";in harmonic structure) on;a right-handed players stronger;side,; naturally enhancing the musical character of the classic "five -one";chord resolution., As with the American configuartion,;it is important to note;a players preference for "german" configuration when ordering Dresden style drums as the tuning pedal and gauges are placed not in the front center position -but to the;right or left of the bowl.; For instance: a 20" German Dresden timpano will have the pedal and gauge on the right of the bowl, nearest the;center of the set-up when placed on the farthest left-hand position.;
