The accompanying illustrations show the daytime animals and if you look closely you'll also find different animals who are sleeping. When you flip the book over and read the other half of the book, you'll find rhymes describing the forest animals that are awake at night (the same ones that were sleeping in the daytime) and the daytime animals are now asleep in the nightime illustrations.
