Simply Beginning is a collection of kid-tested materials and suggestions for beginning a new unit or type of activity during the school year. There are lessons for introducing a new music concept or skill as you start or end a day, year, or season. These lessons are not sequential, but a grade level is suggested for each lesson plan with objectives and teaching suggestions. The activities are grounded in Orff Schulwerk and incorporate exploration, imitation, improvisation, and literacy. Besides the lesson plans, the book includes a glossary of terms and downloadable resources. The online resources include full-color and black-and-white visuals suitable for your presentation software, interactive whiteboard, or for printing hard copies.
