Tonally, drummers would not be far off the mark to consider Elite the “black sheep” of the Artisan family. Extensive multi-peen, high-density hammering is one of the factors that contribute to the Elite sound, resulting in tone that is lower-pitched and drier than other Artisan cymbals. The unique lathing also results in a very solid foot and contributes to the added complexity of these Elite hats.

However, with their traditional Artisan cup and weight (Medium-light top over a Medium-heavy bottom), 14” Artisan Elite hats remain versatile and remain an excellent choice for more mainstream sounds. Artisan Elite Hats also differ from other Artisan cymbals in appearance.
