LP's Classic Series congas have become the standard by which other wood congas are judged. Classic Series congas are constructed using kiln-dried, environmentally friendly Siam Oak, enhancing the drum's natural warm tone. The unique shell contour brings out the drum's mid and high ranges, and hand-selected rawhide heads provide a traditional feel with crisp articulation. An additional layer of fiberglass is added to the inside top portion of the shell for added strength and projection.

The LP Top Tuning congas utilize a system that allows a conga drum to be tuned from the top without turning the drum, lifting it out of its basket, or removing it from its stand. Players will immediately recognize the advantages over traditional nut/bolt/washer/wrench tuning mechanisms, especially in live situations. Immediate access to all tension bolts will eliminate situations where only the nearest bolts can be tensioned, resulting in uneven tuning. With top tuning, the player can access every tension bolt quickly and efficiently in order to tune the head evenly for a good fundamental pitch.

Classic Series Top Tuning congas feature the legendary Comfort Curve II Rims, 5/16" diameter tuning lugs, reinforced LP Heart side plates, LP ProCare integrated shell protectors, an accessory pouch, a tuning key, and LP Lug Lube.

Additional finishes are available. LP Classic series congas are also available as traditional wrench-tuned versions.
