Gon Bops founder Mariano Bobadilla built only one line of drums unique enough to bear his name - the Mariano Series. Gon Bops is proud to offer a modern version of these legendary instruments.

Their vintage character has been painstakingly preserved using traditional counter hoops, authentic Latin American cowhide heads – and, most importantly, durian wood construction.

Mariano series drums are harvested from sustainably sourced, non-producing durian fruit trees. Durian closely resembles the performance qualities of Philippine Mahogany (Luan) and is shockingly lightweight.

The style and full, open sound of the Mariano congas is the definition of classic Cuban style.
