Marimba One's Double Helix Marimba Mallets are designed to provide warmth and a full fundamental throughout the entire range of the marimba with a smooth, dark attack. Using two separate yarns (both wool or one wool and one nylon depending on the model) wrapped simultaneously, Marimba One is able to provide a multitude of different sounds and feels.
Another unique design characteristics is the use of Dual Cores, a process called overmolding. This patented process consists of injection molded polymers carefully injected in hard and soft layers, resulting in a very consistent mallet which provides the ultimate marimba bar tone. This process, combined with various yarn tensions, also results in a nicely weighted and balanced head with wide tonal capabilities.

Love these mallets

Back when Percussion Source had the Buy 2 Pairs, Get 2 Free deal, I took full advantage and ordered four pairs of these (two DHB 3, one DHB 5, and one DHB 6). The DHB 3's are my new favourite general purpose marimba mallets, because they're not too hard for the lower register, and while they're not the best at articulating in the upper register, they're only the medium hard set anyway.
