PEARL Concert Series Snare Drum. Pearl's Concert Series Drums featuring 7.5 mm thick, warm, and resonant 100% all Maple shell, classic styled tube lugs, Pearl's acclaimed 2.3 mm SuperHoop II rims, and Remo Reniassance heads insure you that no construction detail has been overlooked, and a beautiful, highly polished lacquer finish in your choice of either Natural Maple (102) or gleaming Piano Black (103). At the core of the Concert Maple drum's design is an innovative mix of cable snares, specifically designed to provide a Seamless Timbral Overlap. Coated Snare Cable and Stainless Steel Snare Cables are uniquely angle mounted together on a single SR-017 Snare Strainer to emulate graduated tension, and to provide both excellent volume and extreme sensitivity, while maintaining a constant, full bodied orchestral snare timbre.

This is a good solidly built drum. Pearl's snare strainers and throw-offs hold up better than most other brands. With the stock Remo heads, it produces a warm, full tone and blends well in the concert band.
