The Yamaha TP4323CL is a 23” standard series timpano with suspended aluminum bowl. These drums come standard with fiber head covers, long drop covers, and a timpani key. Yamaha timpani also feature a third caster below the pedal for easy mobility and height adjustable casters that can go over 25mm, allowing for precise instrument height as well as head angle.
The next generation of Yamaha timpani includes a completely redesigned frame that enables maximum sustain from the suspended bowl or kettle and ensures reliable long term operation. Special attention was given to the bowl design to improve consistency and give each new series a deep rich tone. A new wheel design and improved pedal mechanics allow vast position options and smooth reliable pedal operation. The tuning gauge is now movable, allowing its position to accommodate both German and American setup options.
The 4300 Standard Series timpani are ideal for middle school and high school bands, orchestras, percussion ensembles, and marching bands. With its sharp appearance, great sound, and value, the 4300 Series allows the performer to play a wide variety of repertoire while projecting pure, resonant sound.
The similarity of features between the 4300 and 6300 Series allow the beginning or intermediate player to adjust with ease to the more advanced timpani series as they progress towards higher levels of performance.
In addition to its exceptional sound quality and value, the 4300 Standard Series boasts many features that allow the performer to play in their most natural and comfortable position. The recessed or sunken rod ears in the rim stays out of the performer's way, especially during sweeping motions. The cable-linked tuning gauge with letter and accidental indicators increase the performer's tuning accuracy, provides convenient tuning changes, and lends effective visual ear training for the beginning performer. The Teflon tape on the bearing edge ensures quiet tuning.
Pedal Balance Spring System
Pedal spring and head tension are balanced so the set pitch is maintained even if the player removes his or her foot from the pedal. Pitch changes across the entire range are smooth and easy.
Refined Kettle Design
In depth research into the effects of kettle edge angle and the dimensions of the openings in the bottom of the kettle have resulted in designs that bring out the most desirable characteristics of the aluminum materials used.
New Frame Design
A frame design ensures maximum resonance of the kettle while focusing on strength to support the timpani bowl.
This new frame is equipped with a suspension ring enabling the kettle to be float-mounted.
REMO Renaissance head
The Yamaha special version of the clear REMO Renaissance head with aluminum insert ring is adopted in all models. All heads are made by REMO.
This clear REMO Renaissance head enables a player to perform a rich musical expression with a more stable pitch and durability.
New larger casters are included. The under-pedal caster is equipped with a larger wheel than the previous model.
There is no need to move timpani room to room/stage with difficulty as there is no longer a need to remove a timpani wheel as located under the pedal in the now previous models.
The locking and unlocking of the large caster can be set quickly and certainly with just one touch of a button.
All casters are equipped with 25mm-width height adjustment by which the height and the angle of the head can be finely adjusted. This enables the timpani to be played at any situation since the height can be always changed to the most suitable position both for the sitting and standing player.
German Setup Support
The tuning gauge can be easily attached to the left or right side of the instrument for compatibility with German system arrangements.
The new tuning indicator can be moved to either side of the timpano for players who desire an American system or German system.
Tuning indicators may be easily removed as desired by the player.
Tuning key and wrench holder
A tuning key and adjustment wrench holder is included with each timpano. The holder can be set on the opposite side of tuning indicator as desired by the player.
A larger pedal is now used on all series. The pedal color is silver, making it easier to locate on a dark stage.
Large main casters are supplemented by a third caster below the pedal, allowing the instruments to glide smoothly and easily.
The main casters include a one-touch lock mechanism that contributes to fast, sure setup. In addition to the main caster lock mechanism an auxiliary brake has been added to the pedal caster. The player can engage the auxiliary brake to securely lock the caster and prevent movement of the instrument.
Recessed rod ears in rim keeps the tension rod heads well out of the way of sweeping motions during play and cradles the timpani key for solid adjustments.
Enclosed housing on tuning gauge increases durability, and maintains smooth movement of the pointer.
Black rim and tuning gauge reduces glare from lights and the sun while complementing black hardware.
Teflon tape on bearing edge provides whisper quiet tuning.
