The Yamaha TP7323CL is a 23” professional series timpano with a hammered copper bowl. These drums come standard with fiber head covers, long drop covers, and a timpani key. Yamaha timpani also feature a third caster below the pedal for easy mobility and height adjustable casters that can go over 25mm, allowing for precise instrument height as well as head angle.
The next generation of Yamaha timpani includes a completely redesigned frame that enables maximum sustain from the suspended bowl or kettle and ensures reliable long term operation. Special attention was given to the bowl design to improve consistency and give each new series a deep rich tone. A new wheel design and improved pedal mechanics allow vast position options and smooth reliable pedal operation. The tuning gauge is now movable, allowing its position to accommodate both German and American setup options.
The 7300 Professional Series timpani are the premier choice for colleges and professionals. With its sleek, black finish and pure resonance, the 7300 Series delivers maximum quality of sound for all levels of performance. The 7300 Series features a hammered bowl, freely suspended bowls ensuring a clear fundamental pitch with less unwanted overtones. The weight and rigidity of the 4mm drawn steel rim provides consistent tension throughout the tuning range.
In addition to its exceptional sound quality and value, the 7300 Series boasts many features that allow the performer to play in their most natural and comfortable position. The 7300 Series features the Yamaha-exclusive PAC (Pedal Adjustment Clutch) system that allows the player to change the resistance of the pedal to accommodate each performer's individual playing style. The PAC is located on the base of the timpani and can be easily adjusted with a timpani key.
In addition to its exceptional sound quality and value, the 7300 Series boasts many features that allow the performer to play in their most natural and comfortable position. The recessed tension rods stay out of the performer's way, especially during sweeping motions. The cable-linked tuning gauge with letter and accidental indicators increase the performer's tuning accuracy and provides convenient tuning changes during performance.
Pedal Balance Spring System
Pedal spring and head tension are balanced so the set pitch is maintained even if the player removes his or her foot from the pedal. Pitch changes across the entire range are smooth and easy.
Refined Kettle Design
In depth research into the effects of kettle edge angle and the dimensions of the openings in the bottom of the kettle have resulted in designs that bring out the most desirable characteristics of the copper materials used.
Advanced Machine Hammering
While faithfully replicating hand hammering techniques, newly developed hammering machines eliminate inconsistencies that can occur in the hand hammering process, resulting in beautiful kettles that produce deeper, richer tone.
PAC (Pedal Adjustment Clutch) System
The PAC system allows pedal resistance to be adjusted while maintaining perfect pedal balance. The original PAC system has been further refined to allow even finer adjustment. A large knob makes adjustment easy too.
New Frame Design
The timpani frame does more than just support the kettle. It plays a significant role in sound quality as well. Strength and playability enhancements have been combined with artist feedback to create a new, optimally balanced frame design. A suspension ring attached to the frame provides a floating mount in which the kettle does not directly contact the frame, allowing full, unrestricted resonance.
Large main casters are supplemented by a third caster below the pedal, allowing the instruments to glide smoothly and easily.
There is no need to move timpani room to room/stage with difficulty as there is no longer a need to remove a timpani wheel as located under the pedal in the now previous models.
The locking and unlocking of the large caster can be set quickly and certainly with just one touch of a button.
All casters are equipped with 25mm-width height adjustment by which the height and the angle of the head can be finely adjusted. This enables the timpani to be played at any situation since the height can be always changed to the most suitable position both for the sitting and standing player.
The main casters include a one-touch lock mechanism that contributes to fast, sure setup. In addition to the main caster lock mechanism an auxiliary brake has been added to the pedal caster. The player can engage the auxiliary brake to securely lock the caster and prevent movement of the instrument.
German Setup Support
The tuning gauge can be easily attached to the left or right side of the instrument for compatibility with German system arrangements.
A tuning key/wrench holder that attaches to the side opposite the tuning gauge is included.
Large pedals have been adopted for easier operation. The pedal color is silver, making it easier to locate on a dark stage.
Recessed rod ears in rim keeps the tension rod heads well out of the way of sweeping motions during play and cradles the timpani key for solid adjustments.
Enclosed housing on tuning gauge increases durability, and maintains smooth movement of the pointer.
Black rim and tuning gauge reduces glare from lights and the sun while complementing black hardware.
Teflon tape on bearing edge provides whisper quiet tuning.
