We had the chance to bring in the Adams GCO-26 glockenspiel and give it the run around. This is a very beautiful sounding instrument. It has all the features that are included on the Artist series pedal glocks but in a convenient box construction. The construction of the box that the bars sits in really helps let the bars resonate. I would not see this instrument having any issues with projection in any size ensemble. The bars on this instrument have a great traditional sound.
The instrument itself is larger than other box glockenspiels and also heavier than other instruments on the market, but if you are looking for a high quality instrument that is still easy to travel with or set up in tight set ups, you should definitely consider this instrument.
Here is a video of me showing the features and playing with several different types of mallets.
